Description
Title supplied by cataloguer.

Cantus Fractus notation on a single mammoth gradual leaf with a splendid initial K. Origin uncertain, possibly Italian, 1500-1600. The text and musical notation are written in what appears to be faded oak gall black. The text is in a Blackletter Rotunda script. Staves of 5 lines in red ink. Several coloured initials in red and blue. Score on recto and verso.

The Gradual (Latin: graduale or responsorium graduale) is a chant or hymn in the liturgical celebration of the Eucharist for many Christian denominations.
