Description
Image 3 of 36 from a 35 mm black and white filmstrip 'Franchise for Aborigines'. Filmstrip illustrating aspects of electoral enrolling and voting for use in lectures to Aboriginal people. The filmstrip was created in 1962 following legislative changes to the Commonwealth Electoral Act of that year. Fifty copies of the film strip Franchise for Aborigines were created and used throughout Australian communities as a wall projection in talks which illustrated and explained the active participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the voting process.
