Malcolm Fraser's Childhood

Permanent URI for this collection

Early childhood documents of public figures are rarely found, so this set of records in the Fraser collection are a unique and valuable contribution to our knowledge of the lives of Australia’s Prime Ministers. The papers include correspondence written by Malcolm to his parents whilst at the Tudor House boarding school, from the ages of 10 to 13, school reports, a poem by Fraser as a young boy, and family reminiscences from his mother, Una Fraser. The black and white and colour home movies date from just before Malcolm Fraser’s birth in 1930 through to the 1940s. The films are made available with the support of the National Film and Sound Archive, where the originals are stored, and the Fraser family.
